About Us
Canterbury Umbrella began as a local charity in 1989 and moved to its current purpose- built premises in 1992.
Our building is designed on two floors and has a large communal space, with café facilities, on the ground floor, whilst upstairs there is a large meeting and activity area with an adjacent smaller computer/quiet room. There is a lift to the first floor so that all our rooms are fully accessible.
You don’t have to be a member to come and visit Canterbury Umbrella. Anybody is welcome to come and see us. You can always become a member later if you like.
Attached you will find a link to the Chairman’s report presented at our virtual AGM in November 2020
A Community Hub
The centre provides a place for people to come and relax, meet friends and receive support from our staff, volunteers and other members.
Anyone can become a member of Canterbury Umbrella and membership is free. There are many benefits.
You will always receive a warm welcome at Canterbury Umbrella. We never turn anybody away.
