Volunteer & Get Involved
If you have some time to spare or are retired and would be interested to work with Canterbury Umbrella, supporting people with social needs, please contact us. Volunteering in any capacity benefits both the volunteer and the people we support. You can utilise the skills you already have and learn new skills – perhaps to add to your CV.
If you would like to help us either in our kitchen, participating in or running activities / workshops, keeping our social media and publicity up to date or organising trips, giving information, entertaining or other activities that would benefit our members; our Centre Manager would love to hear from you. He will be happy to have an informal chat to see how we can put your skills and experience to good use.
Please contact our Centre manager – Will Buggins-Eaves by phone: 01227 767660 or by email at will@canterburyumbrella.org
We also welcome young people or students on work placement who would like to put their spare time to good use.
Maybe you feel it is time to give something back to the community where you grew up; maybe you need work experience because you are hoping to go back to work – or maybe you just like helping others and would enjoy expanding and sharing your experience.
We would be delighted to welcome you as a volunteer. There is no age limit.
Many people find that they gain great personal benefit by helping at Canterbury Umbrella, Read what some of our fantastic volunteers say about their experience in the Centre.
If you would like to consider becoming a volunteer please contact us.
We’d love to hear from you
